About the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management (GSRBM)

May 15 - 25, 2011
Furman University
Greenville, SC

What is the Graduate School?
The Graduate School of Retail Bank Management is a three-summer executive education program for bank officers from throughout the U.S. and abroad.  In a fast-paced, ten-day resident session each summer, students work in teams to analyze the major functional areas of banking and how they interact.  The School provides a nucleus for networking and mutual support by housing students in apartments with a cross-section of job function, bank asset size and geographic location, and then assigning team projects.

Benefit to the Bank
The Graduate School provides that critical additional level of understanding and growth necessary to run the retail bank and the confidence to actively participate in executive committee settings.

Our program is ideal for executives looking to broaden their banking background and become more effective leaders. Students gain a comprehensive knowledge of the forces affecting bank profitability from the shareholder, bank management, regulator, and analyst perspectives.

Inter-session assignments are based on their own banks to enhance real-world application and take-home value. Students establish relationships with various executives from a cross-section of the company to understand how each unit is integral to efficient operation of the bank. This enables them to transfer classroom theory into practice, benefiting their institutions.

Peer learning is another benefit of the session itself. Students form lifelong contacts that allow them to gain differing perspectives from their peers in the industry that they can draw upon throughout their careers.

Our graduates have a track record of earning rapid advancements within their corporations.

Your investment in them inspires loyalty and commitment as they grow within the company.
